Gmail Helpline: How to Delete the Duplicate Contacts from Gmail

However, one thing to keep in mind is that when you import the contact from another account the repeated contact info of the same person is saved as an additional entry. So it is best to de-clutter your Gmail account from such multiple and repetitive entries. Instead, there is a simple way to cleanse your Gmail from such duplicate entries. Steps:
  • Locate the Gmail Drop Down menu placed above the compose button.
  • Click on contacts.
  • In the drop-down menu, more click Find and Merge Duplicates. You will see the entire summary of all the duplicates Gmail mentioning the number of duplicate entries beside relevant entries.
  • Besides the duplicate, you will see Details option. Click on it to confirm if the entries are really duplicated in order to avoid deleting the unique entries.
  •  Once confirmed, click on Merge to merge all the duplicate accounts.
